THE MOM
Marking India's initial venture into the intergalactic space, MOM will discover and notice the Mars surface features, morphology, mineralogy and the Martian atmosphere. Added, a specific search for methane in the atmosphere will offer information about the odds of the past existence of life on the planet.
The huge distances involved in intergalactic missions present a demanding challenge; evolving and mastering the technologies essential for these missions will open limitless possibilities for intergalactic exploration. After leaving Earth, the Orbiter will have to undergo the intergalactic space for 300 days before Mars capture. Separately from deep space communications and navigation-guidance-control abilities, the mission will need autonomy at the spacecraft end to handle contingencies.
